The legend of La Llorona is, well . . . legendary in the southwest, and now there's an opportunity to see if maybe there's something to it!

Our brave-hearted adventurers will gather at our facility in Bernalillo at 7:30 PM, from where we'll embark on what's sure to be a memorable evening. From the put-in beneath a stand of towering cottonwoods in Algodones, dappled with the light of a rising full moon, our flotilla of canoes and kayaks will glide into the quietly rippling Rio Grande shortly after 9:00.

We'll ply the gentle waters for just under two hours, experiencing the sights, sounds and wildlife of the river at an hour that few ever have a chance to see. There's little doubt that we'll hear and see numerous beaver along the way, and the soundtrack can be downright chilling at times, with strange screeches reverberating from deep within the forested riverbanks. Maybe that is La Llorona . . .

Following the float trip, we'll enjoy an assortment of snacks and a cozy campfire, complete with S'Mores! Frightful fun nearly certain to create long-lasting memories!

Rates: $59.00 per person. Children 12 and under who float along with a parent or responsible adult go for half-price ($29.50). Reservations are required – please call!

Please noteFull Moon Floats are limited to those with prior experience paddling on rivers – this is not an appropriate choice for novices. If you haven't canoed or kayaked on rivers before, please consider starting with another of our guided tours.

Half-price rate for children 12 and under applies to children floating along with two adults in a canoe, or with one adult in a kayak.
