The Sandia Mountains are locally famous for their spectacular color display in the light of the setting sun, and there is no perspective in the area that surpasses that offered by the Rio Grande!

This guided trip will put in at Algodones and float through several miles of cottonwood Bosque, which opens regularly to magnificent views of the Sandia’s as they undergo their daily transformation into the “watermelon mountains”. (The photo above was taken by Lory Slade, on one of our sunset floats in early July, 2010.) We will take out at Coronado Campground, where we’ll wrap up with light snacks and a campfire, complete with S’mores! $55.00 per person, plus tax. Please call for reservations!
