NMARC Sprint Race #3 - Cochiti Lake

QWPA is pleased to outfit the members of the New Mexico Adventure Racing Club for Sprint Race #3 at Cochiti Lake! Adventure Racing places emphasis on navigation skills as members trek, mountain bike and paddle to find checkpoints within a 4 - 12 hour time frame. This race will include a paddling element involving the beautiful Cochiti Lake southwest of Santa Fe.

NMARC member's boats will be delivered, staged at the selected launch site and outfitted with appropriate paddles for the boat chosen, PFD's and all safety equipment required by New Mexico state law. Following the race, we'll collect the boats and equipment and return them to our facility.

Rates for participating NMARC members will be at a flat fee of $30.00 per person (plus tax), which will reserve one Bell Northwind canoe for two-person teams, or one Jackson Riviera Sit-on-top kayak for solo racers. Your boat will be delivered and outfitted with all required NM safety equipment, appropriate paddle(s) for the selected boat, and one Type III PFD per racer. Racers who want to use their own PFD's or paddles can drop them off at the QWPA office in Bernalillo by 5:00 PM on Friday, July 13th, or bring them along with them and deliver to the designated boat staging area Saturday morning.

The first 20 racers to reserve will be given priority - Quiet Waters Paddling Adventures is holding a block of 8 Bell Northwind tandem canoes, and 4 Jackson Riviera Sit-on-tops for NMARC racers until Friday, July 13th at 5:00 PM. Reservation requests made following that date and time, or reservation requests that exceed the block of boats reserved, are entirely subject to QWPA's availability.
