Our Paddlecraft

As dedicated paddlers ourselves, we have invested considerable time and effort in selecting our fleet of paddlecraft.  We utilize a very high-quality assortment of boats from among only the most reputable manufacturers. We are proud to say that we don’t offer a single boat to our customers that we aren’t thrilled to paddle ourselves. If your experience with kayaks and canoes is limited to entry-level boats, you'll likely be quite surprised at the performance characteristics of our selection.

Specialty Fishing Kayaks

Jackson Coosa

Fishing via kayak has absolutely exploded over the past several years, and our primary kayak supplier, Jackson Kayak, has been one of the driving forces in developing kayaks that excel as fishing craft. The Jackson Daytripper has won numerous fishing competitions over the years, and the Riviera Sit-on-Top is also a very capable kayak for anglers.

The cream of the crop though, is the Jackson Coosa. The first fishing kayak to be designed to excel at river applications is loaded with features that place it among the best overall fishing kayaks in existence. The video below explores the Coosa from an angler's perspective:

Jackson Coosa Fishing Kayak: $49.00 for the first day, $35.00 for each additional day.

Recreational Kayaks

Jackson Daytripper

A wide open cockpit that makes it ½ canoe and ½ kayak allows for easy entry and exit from the boat, as well as ample room for your gear, your 4 legged friend, a kid, or all of the above. The Daytripper also has exceptional stability - fisherman have been known to stand and cast from these kayaks.

We offer both the 10’ and 12’ Daytripper. The wide flat hull and high sidewalls provides incredible carrying capacity (400 pounds for the 12, and 300 for the 10 footers). This is a great boat to have for friends, family, camping or fishing. It’s both a beginner-friendly recreational kayak and a wonderful fishing platform for the outdoors-lover seeking a great boat for a weekend getaway. These boats are especially popular for parents interested in a solo kayak with sufficient room for a younger child to float along.

Jackson Daytripper Kayak: $39.00 for the first day, $25.00 for each additional day.

Jackson Riviera

Far and away our most popular offering on our Rio Grande Adventures, the Riviera is quite possibly the most comfortable Sit-on-top Kayak in existence. Surprisingly quick and agile, yet remarkably stable, the Riviera is a great choice for a wide variety of applications. An exceptionally shallow draft can take fishermen into some areas inaccessible by other watercraft.

Jackson Riviera SOT Kayak: $39.00 for the first day, $25.00 for each additional day.

Jackson All Water 10

This whitewater/touring hybrid design takes you down the river with confidence and across the lake with precision glide… all in one kayak. A step up from the hybrids of past for better speed and tracking ability, while offering the best of Jackson Kayak’s whitewater expertise and super easy to roll characteristics, assuring the paddler big gains in confidence and ability. This boat is perfect for the intermediate kayaker that wants a boat that does it “All”.

Jackson All Water Hybrid Kayak: $39.00 for the first day, $25.00 for each additional day.

Tandem Kayaks

Ocean Kayak Cabo 16

Ocean Kayak originated the Sit-on-top kayak, and their Cabo is a great example of why they've remained a leader in the field. A 16' Tandem Kayak, with a deep, generous storage hatch in the bow, with plenty of room for several fishing rods and plenty of other gear, the Cabo is a stable, yet quick, tandem sit-on-top. Three seating positions means that it can be comfortably paddled solo or handle a third smaller passenger, while the high secondary stability makes it highly resistant to capsize. This tandem is a great choice for either lakes or quiet rivers.

Ocean Cabo SOT Kayak: $49.00 for the first day, $35.00 for each additional day.

Canoes

Our canoe fleet is comprised exclusively of watercraft built with Royalex construction, an engineered laminate of closed cell foam rubber and ABS plastic, carefully chosen and fused together to create desired performance characteristics. Royalex is an outstanding canoe material – lightweight, flexible and buoyant.

Tandem Canoes

Bell Northwind

The majority of our canoe fleet is made up of Bell’s Northwind tandem canoes, Bell’s most popular tandem for flatwater tripping.  It's maneuverable, efficient and remarkably stable. Bell’s assymetrical, differential rocker design makes this boat beginner friendly, yet will delight an experienced canoeist. It’s easy to paddle in currents and choppy conditions - neither of which can ever be completely avoided.

At only 62 lbs – quite light for a 16 ½’ canoe - the Northwind is an excellent choice for a variety of purposes and our most popular canoe offering. If your experience with canoes is limited to heavier, tippier and less-expensive plastic or aluminum boats, you will be shocked by the stability and performance characteristics of the Bell Northwind.

Bell Northwind: $49.00 for the first day, $35.00 for each additional day.

Old Town Penobscot

Old Town’s Penobscot is a quick, nimble and amazingly durable boat for the intermediate to experienced paddler. With a sharp entry and straight keel line for speed and efficiency, it's equally at home in fast moving or still water. A little narrower and faster than the Bells, though not as stable, the Penobscot is an excellent canoe for a variety of purposes. 16’ 2” in length and only 58 lbs. makes this an excellent choice for the more accomplished paddler.

Old Town Penobscot: $49.00 for the first day, $35.00 for each additional day.

Solo Canoes

Wenonah Rendezvous

Wenonah's solo wilderness tripper, the Rendezvous features a sharp keel with a deep, flared bow, ideal for shedding waves and staying dry in choppy water. A fairly heavy royalex build (though still only 55 lbs), the Rendezvous isn't deterred by occasional impacts. A good choice for Class II+ water, the Rendezvous shines in the hands of a capable canoeist.

Wenonah Rendezvous: $39.00 for the first day, $25.00 for each additional day.

Mohawk Solo 14

Remarkably light at only 39 lbs, Mohaws Solo 14 is an excellent, multi-purpose hull, especially suited for lakes and quiet rivers. This is the boat our guides fight over on our Rio Grande Adventures - it responds instantly to subtle corrective strokes, while providing decent glide for a 14' hull. The Solo 14 is a common choice among freestyle canoeists.

Mohawk Solo 14: $39.00 for the first day, $25.00 for each additional day.

Solo Whitewater Canoes

Mohawk Probe 12

Symmetrical rocker and a flared center section leads to great secondary stability in a boat that shines in ferrying, catching eddys, and peel-outs. Full Mohawk factory outfitting, including pedestal, thigh strap and flotation, makes this a great little whitewater playboat.

Mohawk Probe 12: $49.00 for the first day, $35.00 for each additional day.
